webCOMAND

Version Control Settings

Version Control is configured in a Base with Version Settings and Content Log Settings.

Together these settings control how webCOMAND maintains revisions and audit trails, which are explained in more detail in Version Control.

Version Settings

Version Settings define revision retention policies, optionally by folder and/or content type.

Version Settings

To add Version Settings:

  1. Launch Content Manager (CMS)
  2. Click the desired folder where you would like to store the Version Settings.  The folder is for organization purposes only and will not impact what content is controlled.
  3. Click Add and select "Version Settings".
  4. Enter a Title for organizational purposes.
  5. Select the desired Folder(s) to apply the settings to.
  6. Select the desired Content Type(s) to apply the settings to.
  7. Select the maximum number of revisions to retain, or select "Unlimited".
  8. Click Approve.

Content Log Settings

webCOMAND stores audit trail information in the Content Log for all content indefinitely by default.  Content Log Settings can be used to disable the audit trail per Folder and Content Type and set the retention policy, which is maintained by the Cleanup Repository Scheduled Task.

Content Log Settings

 To add Content Log Settings:

  1. Launch Content Manager (CMS)
  2. Click the desired folder where you would like to store the Content Log Settings.  The folder is for organization purposes only and will not impact what content is controlled.
